Stage 4 Breast cancer: what helps with nausea from chemo?

My wife got her 2nd infusion of her2 on Monday and she started getting nauseous on Wednesday and it was so bad I took her to hospital she has been here 5 days and still nauseous has any one had this or what we can do the nausea medicine they give her is not working

Did she have an infusion for Her2+ cancer? Herceptin? Since she is in the hospital, do you feel that MD's are not doing the right thing for her? Hope she feels better. It is hard on spouses.

Sorry to hear your wife is going through that. Usually the combination of Akynzea (1 pill infusion day that lasts for 5 days) and Dexamethasone for 3 days, works well for extreme nausea. I hope The doctors find a solution soon for her.

Thank u and today seems to be better and yes I didn’t believe they were doing the best for her but I can be wrong I just feel so helpless sometimes

Thank u they are giving her a divan and compre and something with a r to no avail works for 15 minutes and that’s it the oncology team is talking with the doctors at the hospital to help also

How are you and your wife doing? Have you heard about Integrative Oncology to help with side effects?

I kept with me candied ginger in my chemo bag to suck on when I felt nauseous during chemo. That seemed to help me, I also kept ginger ale at home. I was fortunate this helped me.
