Stage 1, unilateral mastectomy: What tests check for recurrence?

For women with this diagnosis, what tests are done to look for recurring cancer, annually, at your cancer center? It seems to vary, and I find this to be quite disconcerting. I was given a Screening mammogram on my surviving, very dense, breast. And then a manual exam on my mastectomy chest. That's it! I don't feel that this is enough.

For dense breasts, mammogram is not enough. Need Ultrasound at minimum. I am having difference of opinion with my oncologist regarding this and interested to see what they do with me in November/December. Only thing ordered right now is Mammo.
