Side effects of oral bisphosphonates

I'm curious to know:

-Did you have any side effects from taking an oral bisphosphonate (weekly or monthly)
-What were the side effects?
-When did they start and how long did they last?
-Was it only after the first dose or after every subsequent dose?

I’ve had one shot, no side effects. My condition has improved and my stress fx have healed. I am also using teriparatide (Forteo) by daily injection. I’ve had 6 stress fx in 2.5 years from my knee down and including my foot. I’m thankful to be healed and fully ambulatory. My Dexa scores are not that bad but the calculation should be different for 65 and over IMHO. An article I read from 2021 stated that of the elderly group with SF 67% had only osteopenia. I say go for it!

I have been on Fosamax for 2 years and have not had any adverse side effects. I follow the instructions of drinking plenty of water when I take the pill and sit up or casually walk. I refrain from eating for at least an hour as well.

I have been on Fosamax for 2 years and have not had any adverse side effects. I follow the instructions of drinking plenty of water when I take the pill and sit up or casually walk. I refrain from eating for at least an hour as well.

Thank you for replying! I make sure to follow the instructions as well, so far no side effects, I hope it stays that way AND I will get some improved scores at my next dexa 😀
