side effects of Forteo after being on it for 9 mths?
My sister has been on Forteo for 9months. The last 2 weeks her face has been swollen? This is one of the side effects. Not sure if Forteo would be the cause. Nothing has changed such as meds, lifestyle.

Swollen face with Forteo (teriparatide) can be a sign of a serious allergic reaction (angioedema), requiring immediate emergency care (call 911), especially if accompanied by difficulty breathing, hives, or throat tightness.
Less severe facial swelling might be a general side effect or related to high calcium levels (hypercalcemia), but always contact your doctor promptly for any facial swelling while on Forteo to determine if it's an emergency or needs management, as it can signal life-threatening issues like anaphylaxis or calciphylaxis.
