Should I be concerned about waiting 2 1/2 months for RRP?

I’m G9 with negative PMSA PET scan for anything outside prostate (seminal vessel and lymph nodes). Negative for anything outside the region.

RRP planned with lymph node removal. Scheduled 2 1/2 months from now. Should I be concerned about spread to Lymph Nodes and possibly farther by waiting that long? PSMA PET SCAN 10 days ago. I realize microscopic cells could be found on a lymph node that is undetectable by PSMA PET. I think that’s worst case scenario now that might get “worse” in 2 1/2 months.

I recall that during COVID, when treatments were often delayed for months, some were put on ADT during the wait.

This study from 2020 reported in JAMA indicates that even with localized, high-risk prostate cancer, a surgery delay of up to 6 months has no statistically significant chance of worse outcome. —> https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2773817

I had the same concern for my husband. He was Gleason 8 in August but wasn't scheduled for his RALP until November. I was a nervous wreck. I even considered trying to find a different surgeon.

Ultimately I trusted that the well-respected surgeon at UCLA knew what he was doing. My husband's surgery happened two weeks ago, and everything went great.

So try not to stress. The time will pass and before you know it, you will be on the other side and healing.

(Book) You can beat prostate cancer and you don't need surgery to do it by Marckini.
It helped me with what questions to ask. I had (G8 stage4), proton treatment, harmone and chemo.
