@eddie61: If I were you I would not go another day without finding a therapist to talk things over with. We all need help getting from day to day and feeling good about it. If money is an issue call around - maybe a social worker will have contacts for free or a sliding scale fee schedule for quality psychologists!
Panic attacks and anxiety can lead to serious physical issues and are so scary to experience. There is help in the form of therapy, medication evaluation, etc., all can make it possible to be happy again and find security you need. These are ways that worked for me -I hope it helps you find peace in this crazy world.

13 ReactionsThere’s nothing wrong with ruling out a medical cause for your symptoms. I did that when I ended up in the ER due to an anxiety attack many years ago. Everything checked out fine. Of course, I followed up with my primary sho referred me to a cardiologist. I had test to ensure my heart was fine and it was.
Treatment is key. I was very successful and would encourage you to seek treatment. It’s definitely something professionals can assist you with. I found that understanding what was happening to me when the episodes occurred was quite helpful.

10 ReactionsI would start with self and address all pillars in your life, as well as seeking out someone to talk things through with..
Overall Health-
Meaning: sleep, exercise/movement,nutrition, community/connection, sense of purpose, faith spirituality.
When all 6 of these pillars are functioning together, you will find more peace calm and happiness.
Where the mind goes, your energy flows

7 ReactionsI agree with @nrd1
Consider taking time out to assess your life by answering to yourself these questions.
Are you afraid to die?
Are you dealing with a medical issue outside of the anxiety?
What fears do you have?
Are you alone, live alone?
Do you have a community of friends?
Are you a lone ranger?
Are you in a relationship that is not healthy/hellthy?
Have you gone thru a dramatic change with:
finances?
unmet expectations?
relationships?
Has someone youve loved died in the past 6 months?
What is your anxiety TELLING YOU?
What are you telling yourself ABOUT the anxiety?
To help anxiety:
INHALE before you exhale.
Use the breathing exercise:
Inhale 6, hold 4, exhale 6. There are lots of breathing exercises on the internet.
Walk 20 minutes every day if your not bound by anything.l
Eat only God given natural foods.
Stay off social media for 3 weeks.
Read inspiring biographies.
Keep a journal. Be sure you INCLUDE Gratitude each day.
Read Phippians 4:6 on what this says about Anxiety.
Consider reading Anxious for Nothing by John MacArthur
Or going to http://www.gty.org
Type in Anxiety.
Theres a lot of info and teachings on anxiety.
This is Christian based and very helpful.
Best and Blessings to you, Eddie61!

5 Reactions@eddie61: It’s been several days and I am checking to learn how you are feeling? Has the degree of anxiety and/or panic attacks changed? Have you been able to sleep at night?
So many of us can relate to the hopeless feelings that come with panic attacks and want you to have better days. Best for you…

2 Reactions@dbamos1945 I agree Find a therapist ask your doctor for some Ativan very low dose and only take it if you are really in trouble.
Do not cont like this It is hard on your heart Your doctor should be on top of this better

2 Reactionshave you seen a specialist, or doctor? i was just this week given by my doctor, something for my depression and anxiety and my daughter said don't take it till she thinks i need it. tell her what's going on and go from there, i normally just raise a finger which to family members means i need a time out. ill go to my room and for the next few minuets try to calm my mind. think of things that i had a good moment or thoughts of something that made me smile, relax with my feet up. whatever makes me less stressed from the moment, its my trigger point to keep my seizures at bay and helps immensely. try different things to calm your mind. hope something here helped.
