Second knee same surgeon?

How important do you think it is to have both knees done by the same surgeon ?

There is no definitive anwser. Your surgeon may be excellent but there are other factors that come into play for a successful outcome. Then again you may want to spread your risk by going with another doctor for the second knee , as in a diverse financial porfolio. Some patients give confidence in their doctor top priority. If you had success with the first knee and you like your doctor I don't see a problem.

If you are happy with the first result, why not have him do the other? But each knee will heal a bit differently and at it's own pace no matter who does the surgery. As far as being important to have the same surgeon, I'd say no, other factors such as skill, travel considerations and cost being equal. If you are not happy with communication from the doctor and his staff, that might influence you also.
