Second hip replacement scheduled 2024.

I have had TKR twice on both knees, last surgery 2022, then right hip replaced in 2023 after fall recovery broken left arm and left tibia. Now scheduled for left hip replacement in a few months. Right upper leg still having discomfort do to complications and nerve block was not given. Any related recovery info appreciated. I am a 76 yr woman and weight is in range, not an issue. Thank you

Do not let them take out the catheter too quickly wait until your ready. My second hip after the replacement 24 hours later fractured the actebulum and public ramus. I had to remain in bed sedated for a week waiting for my hip to quit bleeding before they could fix it. Took a year and a half to relearn to walk. Just go at your own pace not there’s.

Wow. I was much luckier with first hip replacement, but agree with you. Originally I was to have day surgery. My surgeon is doing anterior hip replacements for 'healthy' patients as day surgery. But due to my not receiving any nerve block I could not stand on right leg. Was kept overnight and had to wear a fitted leg brace for 5 months. Its been 14 months since surgery, still some discomfort but improving. Will be better prepare for left hip replacement in the fall.
Take care and Thank you kindly!
