Second Hip Replacement Revision Outcome

Posted by wazzcozz @wazzcozz, Dec 30, 2022

Hi,
I've had a second revision surgery done 5 months ago.2 months post op the scar tissue from previous surgeries seperated leaving me unstable and the muscles pops over the boney side of my hip.
Can this be repaired or does the whole replacement have to be revised again.
Thanks Warren Cosgrave

@wazzcozz OH, that sounds like a really unfortunate outcome. Did the tissue actually open leaving a wound? If so you need to be seen by your doc ASAP due to infection risk.
If the scar is still closed, how did you determine what is happening? Have you discussed this with your surgeon? What was their advice?

It is healed well but he said he had to stitch up through old scar tissue. That is what pops over the bone.
I'm seeing a new surgeon in March.
Thanks Sue
