Have any of you heard of Calmare Scrambler Therapy?
Have any of you gone to doctors for Scrambler Therapy? It is a special therapy for neuropathy that was written about (positively) by Johns Hopkins and Mayo Clinic doctors. Many people have been helped by it….Unfortunately not covered by health insurance.

I had 12 treatments. About 1 year ago. Severe pain, pins and needles now gone. The numbness has remained. I now get through the days and can sleep at night. Would I do it again? Yes, but still need to regain control of my feet and balance. Will keep connect informed.
What, exactly, happens during this Scrambler therapy? There used to be a carnival ride called the Scrambler, but I seriously doubt that it is the same thing. LOL
How much were these treatments? If they are effective, I wonder why insurance doesn't cover it.
Thanks
Not sure what the cost is but hopefully other can share what it cost. I've read that the cost averages $200 to $500 per session. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has some good reference info about the treatment - https://www.foundationforpn.org/scrambler-therapy-for-treating-neuropathic-pain/.
There is also a good patient story from 2015 on the Mayo Cinic News Network.

I am on a website support group where many people have tried Scrambler Therapy and have reduced their pain totally or by a lot. It’s not permanent but will last a few months up to a year when you go back for a booster treatment. It is done by a doctor or chiropractor; it scrambles the pain sensations leading from neuropathy pain in your feet that goes up to your brain. Check into it. It helps 70% of those who try it……unfortunately not covered by insurance. You need 10 one hour sessions; some more and some less.
Ditto: Worked for me!
How many sessions did you have and what did it cost of you don’t mind me asking?
I tried it for 7 sessions I was supposed to do 10. Unfortunately, it made my pain worse. It was $250 per session. It does help others. Best of luck.
I’m so sorry it made your pain worse. How disappointing for you! Where did you have it done?I hope you find something that will help…..there’s a new non-opioid pill that has been approved for pain. Wishing you good luck!
