Sciatic pain

Posted by cghernand @cghernand, 5 days ago

I was hospitalized on 9/11/25 for sciatic pain. I have never felt such pain, and nothing I did prompted this, that I know of.
I’ve had several MRI’s but I can’t seem to find help. ( narrowing in the nerve I guess)
I am starting to believe I have to live with this.
I live in a small town and so far I’ve only seen a nurse practitioner and had PT. The Np said I should get some square thing put into my nerve, that seems odd to me, a foreign object put into my body.
Any suggestions would be so appreciated. I have 5 grandkids, and I can barely move after being with them. And I might add, they mean the world to me; I will never stop being there for them.

This video is a bit of work to get through, but it may help you figure out what is causing your pain. It is more likely to be something that can be remedied. https://www.youtube.com/watch
It must have been really intense to end up in hospital.
I'm not sure about the "square thing you put into the nerve." The NP may have been referring to a nerve stimualtor. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treatment-tests-and-therapies/treating-pain-with-spinal-cord-stimulators,
Usually with low back pain you don't have cervical, thoracic, or pelvic MRIs. All of these areas can cause low back pain. I can get sharp back pain from the SI joint, but even imaging that doesn't always reveal the disjoint.
I would also suggest that you consider seeing a chiropractor. The perform the best hands on assessment.
Those grandkids are lucky.

I have sciatica pain and constant pain. With a doctor they found out that I have spinal stenosis and that is the start of my back troubles. I take turmeric 1000 mgs some days 2000 to help keep the pain down and I have to some days use oxycodone. Most days stay away from the oxy because when it wear off the pain is so much worse. So I deal with it with exercise because that truely helped me be able to live daily better.

@cghernand This is Quietriver. The wife and I take liquid turmeric every day with orange juice taste very good and helps. I even give to my Animals and even at 14 years old act like pups sometimes.
When my wifes sciatica when out and she couldn't move we uses sensual oil frankense that the deicples gave to Jesus when he was born as a gift. used alot during those years 10 drops - Trinity oil 10 drops. It is said to be the oils what Jesus told the disiples to use and go out and heal the people and Australian Emu oil 8 drops has many healing properties as well as going streight into the trouble area.and Coco nut oil for a carrier 32 oz as oils don't enter the body without a carrier, mixed them all together and rubbed on the sciatic nerve area. She used this mixure about 10 days and hasn't had any further pain. that was about 9 mo ago
Good luck and have a nice day
