scared and undecided re: starting Evenity

I am 67 and my doctors have been urging me to start treatment after my most recent DEXA scan results: R Hip is -2.9 and L. hip is -3.4. I have had two one hour consults with doctors this year regarding making this decision and was about to schedule my first injection, but still can't seem to move forward. After a post viral illness in 2020, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, though I have gotten somewhat better. The last thing I want is a setback, and I have heard that the malaise and fatigue post-injection can be an issue. Also, the COST! I have Medi-care and it seems like the cost will be outrageous. According to Medicare.gov, with any plan my out of pocket drug costs will apparently be $38,000?! Also, I have terrible teeth, despite taking especially good care of them. Have lots of root canals and bridges. I do have a history of a 13 year eating disorder which probably contributed to this osteoporosis! Anyway, I feel quite stuck as to whether to move forward with this or not. Most of me doesn't want to bother, but I do think of the long term risks. They keep calling me to ask me to schedule my injection and I keep avoiding the phone calls.

skhs58, are you on an advantage plan. Original Medicare part B should cover medications given in the doctor's office or clinic, which is usual with Evenity. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/does-medicare-cover-evenity If you are on an advantage plan, there is time to switch. Then you should procrastinate until January.
Fatigue is said to be a less common side effect with Evenity. Arm swelling from the injection and joint pain are common. Can't blame your for not rushing off for the injection.

It was overwhelming for me also. But so far so good. Have had 4. And it’s supposed to help.
