@positivehealth - I do have the spongy feet feeling with my neuropathy which causes some balance issues for me along with lower back ache but it's not a sharp pain in my case. I think mine is due to Lumbosacral Radiculopathy. I've had some PT to help improve my posture and strengthen my core but I still have issues walking any distance. Not sure if this is similar to your symptoms or not. Here's some more info:

"Lumbosacral radiculopathy refers to a pain syndrome resulting from compression or irritation of nerve roots in the lumbosacral region, commonly characterized by symptoms such as low back pain, leg pain, lower extremity numbness or tingling, and weakness."

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Spongy feet definitely affect walking and standing.

How long have you been experiencing spongy feet?

Is it still affecting your back or did PT resolve that back pain?

It seems that sacral pain is not that common from standing or walking with spongy feet.

Radiculopathy has been ruled out.

@positivehealth I’ve had the spongy feeling for quite a few years but think it may be a feeling from the numbness symptoms of my neuropathy. One thing that does help some for me is to wear barefoot shoes or zero drop soles with not much cushion. It keeps me from wobbling too much. What also makes it hard for me to walk is my forward leaning spine. My posture is not very good.

Is there a certain brand or style for barefoot or drop shoe?
Once again thank you!
