Relay drug for Prolia if you have already been on a bisphosphonate

Posted by serious @serious, Jun 29, 2023

I have been on a bisphosphonate a very long time and I need to stop. If I go on Prolia though, if I need to stop, what could I relay to as I have already used up my life type quota of bisphosphonates or at least ten years of it?

@serious, I was on Fosamax for years followed by 5 years of Reclast. Then a drug holiday until Dexa in 2021 showed severe osteoporosis. Started on Prolia in 2021. In the past 2 years I had 4 fractures due to osteoporosis and required surgery for 3 of them. Therefore, doctor recommended Tymlos which I started several weeks ago. Was recently talking to a nurse about options after Tymlos to lock in the bone building benefits. She told me that Reclast is an option again as no lifetime limit for Reclast
