Recurring Diverticulitis fro Senna
Hello, I have diverticula throughout my colon. In 2017 I started Senna for a stimulant. Was hospitalized with diverticulitis right side . Then got back on a month later. Another bout. Stopped Senna and raw veggies etc Fast forward to 2026. I began a supplement that had Senna in it, but was considered safe. Got diverticulitis left side ( first time in 8 1/2 years). Now in April it’s on a different side right side. I have NEVER had this much pain. ER took blood 13.4 WBC and gave me Augmentin, as I am allergic to others. My dr says it’s not the senna. I think it is. Thoughts??

It is not supposed to cause diverticulitis, but I think it inflames my colon
I’ve had diverticulitis several times in the past 30 years. Only the first time was the pain level 10. After that, whenever I felt it coming on, I immediately went on clear liquids to let everything calm down and it usually did. Talk to your doctor first of course in case that impacts your other issues.
I’ve had cancer meds slow down my digestion the past few years and have found a natural healthy remedy for me is daily mashed avocado on a piece of toast. To make it simple, I buy frozen avocado pieces at Target (Sprouts has some too that I haven’t tried). I let about 1/3-1/2 cup thaw in fridge for 4 hours and then it’s mashable. Figure out the right amount for you. Healthy fat full of fiber. Note, you can’t thaw avocado in the microwave. It’s sparks and can damage the microwave. Good luck! Diverticulitis is no fun!
I had no idea you could get frozen avocado. Thanks!
