Recently Diagnosed with T4BN2 Rectal cancer that has spread to colon.

I am having a PET scan in a couple days have have already been noted to be T4BN2 with my recurrence after resection done 9 months ago. I did not have chemo or radiation last time around. Can anyone let me know what I should be expecting and length of treatment for a similar diagnosis. My tumor is "microsatellite stable" (MSS) moderately differentiated invasive adenocarcinoma,.

So after your surgery your were cancer free? I had MSS and the right side of my colon was removed. I had a follow up colonoscopy that found more polys that were removed. I didn't realize a recurrence could move that fast in the bowel.

I was told in October that all the margins were good and CEA was 2. Now CEA 11 and the MRI noted T4BN2 from the same spot and says it has invaded further areas. I was very surprised as this was my first colonoscopy since surgery when this was found.

Will be starting radiation late next week 5 days a week for 6+ weeks, while doing the chemo for 4-6 months. Hoping for good outcomes and no additional spread.
