Radiated breast remains smaller and harder post reconstruction

11/22 i had a lumpectomy of the left breast. Radiation followed and am presently on Letrozole. The radiated breast remains harder than the right breast and smaller. Had reconstructive surgery in 4/24 to reduce the right breast to match the left breast and remove that nasty “Biozorb” and then make all surgery stitches nice like plastic surgery stitches.
It is now 10/24 and the radiated breast is still hard and numb (in parts) and hasn’t fallen into place. The difference shows and my shirts shift to the right not to mention no bras fit right.
Has anyone had a similar experience mostly wondering if the radiated breast will ever assimilate to my body and feel normal

@frantik223, I think that @seathink and @zeerj may have some experiences to add to yours.

Frantik, have you talked to your cancer team about the radiated breast's appearance?

I was finally able to have my reconstruction a week ago. Took over two years due to recurring pneumonia. I love the results. I did have the issue when I had expanders with the radiated breast being higher than the other side. Supposedly my surgeon closed capsule?! on the non radiated to lift it up and match. I am noticing slight difference which I will bring up in my post op.

I'm a year and a half post reconstruction and my skin feels more normal but not quite the same. I am still numb and was told that might be forever since with the mastectomy my nerves were removed as well. I wish my health professionals could have told me more in the beginning. I wouldn't change the treatment but I like to know what's happening
