gmr60, yes. The doctor ordered the kit and a phlebotomist came to the house to draw the blood, except it wasn't me who had the draw. The blood sample is fed exed back to Episwitch lab where they process it.

Thank you.
Was it your / his Dr or one of the Dr's from 94percent.com.
Sorry to be so anal.
I belong to Kaiser and they (will not) cooperate with me on this and Im tired of talking to them about this particular matter

His doctor called Episwitch and processed their form.
Kaiser does some things so efficiently. It is the newer things that stymie them. Their doctors don't have much personal agency.
Glad you got persevered.

I'm in the same boat with Kaiser ..... though I haven't asked them for the PSE test yet I think it would be my best " next step " before getting a biopsy . last year I had my first ever PSA test which came back at 10.9 followed by another 6 weeks later that came back at 11.0 the next one in August came back at 8.6 . I finally had an appointment with a Kaiser urologist who wanted me to get the biopsy ( Kaiser really pushes for the biopsy ) but with the research I did I thought it best to get the 3T MRI first then the biopsy - Kaiser said no to the MRI but I stuck to my plan and eventually Kaiser approved the MRI - they profit much more with a biopsy , MRI's are not cost effective . The MRI came back as pirad 3-4 ( according to the guy that did the imaging ) but he said he was going with a " 4 " to be safe .... I have a contained ( no visible spread ) lesion of 5mm in my prostate , when I had my follow up consultation with the urologist she thought for the time being we would do active surveillance and monitor my PSA I'm due for my next PSA test now - my plan is to get a biopsy if the PSA has increased - if it has then I will get the biopsy though I would prefer to get a PSE . I'm very skeptical that Kaiser will agree to a PSE test . Has anyone out there that is a Kaiser member been approved for the PSE test ? If so please let me know - thanks in advance .

I'm glad you stuck to your guns on the MRI.
Im not sure why Kaiser is so different from Doctor to Doctor.
I (had) a urologist that sent me to MRI with a PSA of 3.8 because my PSA had risen rather quickly in his opinion.
The MRI found a small lesion and came back with Pi-rads 2 without Fusion and Pi-rad 3 with Fusion. Then the Urologist said maybe we should do a biopsy...fast forward... I got a second opinion from a Urologist at the South San Francisco Medical Center. He thought the first Doc was being too aggressive and ordered another PSA, that PSA came back at 1.8. Now we are just to keep an eye on it via PSA test.
I want the PSE so I can put this thing to rest or put the gloves on if I have to.

I’m in a similar situation. My MRI came back PIRADS 3 and maybe pointing to a benign lesion. Radiologist said to do another MRI in 6 mos. Urologist would do a PSA in 3 months and a biopsy if my numbers increase or remain elevated. Not sure what to do. Wait for 2nd MRI or test and Biopsy. How is a PSE different from a PSA?
