Provenge, has anyone received this

Posted by kjbushur @kjbushur, Aug 16 6:51pm

I just completed paperwork for the treatment of Provenge. Paperwork was sent to my insurance for approval. My question is, has anyone received this treatment. My doctor said it should help to gain one or two additional years. What was your experience.
Best wishes for all of us to have best lives.

I know a few people who have had Provenge. It’s good to have it when your PSA is still low. It is hoped that will give extra time. Actual results are a little hard to estimate.

In the IMPACT clinical trial, Provenge extended the median overall survival of men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) by 4.1 months compared to placebo. The median survival in the Provenge group was 25.8 months versus 21.7 months in the control group.

Had a recent conversation with a client about our PC and he had the Provenge 12 years ago and had a 1900 PSA.
Still on Xtandi, about 70 now and undetectable. Amazing!
