1 Reaction@broach188 Thanks for your reply. I am having Proton SBRT because I have pulmonary fibrosis and this is irradiation after SBRT to another nodule) Do you know your total lung capacity?
@vic83 No I don't know my total lung capacity I am not a very intelligent person lol.I wish you good luck
I’m trying to get appointment now for proton therapy. I have small cell lung cancer . I don’t know if you have to go thru chemo and radiation first and then if returns get proton therapy. Just found out about proton therapy yesterday. I’ve had 3 treatments of radiation but held off chemotherapy until I find out. Is your cancer small cell lung cancer?
@feegee0272 ... I think there are criteria to be offered proton instead of photon radiation. There are only about 46 centers in the US that offer it and insurance won't cover it if other options are suitable.
In my case, I had photon SBRT, experienced radiation-induced pneumonitis and have pulmonary fibrosis so it would be too risky for me to repeat photon. Proton is more precise and controllable and therefore safer for me. My first choice would be bronchoscopic ablation but I am not a candidate.
Hello @feegee0272 , Have you had a chance to ask your radiation oncologist about proton radiation? Are you treated at a center that offers this type of treatment?

I was diagnosed with nsclc. on 9/10/25. I have adenicarcinoma of left lung 2.5 cm lession plus a small tiny between the lungs where they meet together. NO mutations. NO targeted therapy for me. It is state IV. no targeted therapy for me. However, I am starting chemo on 12/1 along with immunotherapy. after 21 days, this will be followed by another round of chemo and immunotherapy.
Dr, stated I would be on immunotherapy indefinitely. I have NO clue as what to expect.
Pls if any one has any info on similar situation do let me know.
Blessings to all this upcoming Thanksgiving Day.
