Prostate aquablation Procept

Posted by anonmike @anonmike, 1 day ago

I have advanced prostate cancer that is metastic. I'm 86 and being treated by Lupron and Abieraterone with Prednizone. Treatment seems to be doing well. I'm feeling well. Trouble getting good sleep, some cathering, many trips to bathroom, trying to moderate drinking by stopping by 2 p. I'm considering prostate aquablation Procept. I'm asking for any information from persons in my general circumstances, ie. after being diagnosed with advanced metastic cancer that is being treated. Thank you.

ADT does affect your sleep, Can cause you to wake Multiple times at night. After eight years on ADT, I didn’t have much problem with this until recently. I stopped ADT for eight months and had to go back on it, Since then, I can’t sleep through the night anymore. Eventually, it will start working properly, At least based on past experience.

I don’t have to get up to pee, however, At least not more than once a night. It might be because I take a drug called Myrbetriq, Which reduces urgency and really helps with incontinence. You could ask your doctor about it maybe that could solve your problem With having to pee multiple times at night. Gemtesa is supposed to work pretty much the same.

Abiraterone is real hard on the body, I’m on three different blood pressure medicines due to taking it. At your age, you want a drug that has the least side effects. Good to hear you’re not having many problems right now, If you do have problems with fatigue. If you do start having problems with it, going to Darolutamide eliminate Almost all the side effects that you have with Zytiga.

Don’t be over treated. Check this video out about over treatment for people in their 80s.

Very thoughtful comment and sensible video. I’m in the category of advance prostate cancer with Mets, the last category talked about, good info for discussion with docs. . Thank you, Jeff.

I have not seen that PCRI.org YOU-TUBE video. In case it was not discussed OLIGOmets are less than five sites and are susceptible to SBRT (stereotactic beam radiotherapy). Jeff's suggestions based on experience are invaluable.
