@drpepper, here is some information on rifaximin (I apologize if this is repeat information or too generic), https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/rifaximin-oral-route/proper-use/drg-20065817. This does emphasize the point that any questions regarding dosing, how to take it, or taking things before, during, or after use or rifaximin should be discussed with your medical provider or pharmacist to get the safest, most accurate information. Have you discussed probiotics with your medical provider?

I take Align every day. I think it's controversial whether to take a probiotic after SIBO but for me, I feel and function much better. I'm also missing my right intestines due to a bowel obstruction. I take Xifaxan every day due to chronic SIBO.

Hi, @drpepper and welcome to Connect. I was on xifaxan for over a year prior to my liver transplant and never had a belching problem. We are all different though in how medications affect us, and you are taking it for a totally different reason so your situation could be causing the belching.
I hope this is just temporary and will improve.
