Prior pancreatitis and advisability of Prolia use

Posted by mckenzie1840 @mckenzie1840, Jun 21, 2024

I experienced a 5-day hospital stay due to pancreatitis 10 yrs. ago. Had no history of pancreatitis nor have I had a recurrence since. However, there are existing cysts in my pancreas. A suggested cause was a pancreatic infection. Have been diagnosed with osteoporosis with adverse reactions to bisphosphonates. Suggested protocol = Tymlos for 2 yrs, Prolia to maintain density after. Bone health conference with orthopedic docs reviewed my case and another doc checked with the pharmaceutical company re my use of Prolia. It was suggested I not use Prolia due to the possibility of it triggering pancreatitis. Any experience with this? Two other docs recently said no problem with use. ?????
