Pressure after total colectomy 4 months ago

I randomly found this group online and figured that I would ask others if they are having the same issue. I had my 3rd and final surgery for a total colectomy in December. Physically I am doing very well. My only issue is that every time I use the bathroom, there is a lot of pressure and straining. Is this normal?? It is not painful at all.
