Post RARP Erections sexual activity?
I'm a few weeks out from my RARP and the swelling and tenderness in my groin are gone. Yesterday I got a mild erection, not hard enough to penetrate or do anything with but it felt really good. I attempted some light Masturbation, and my penis responded and then my libido kicked in and I really wanted to try to have an orgasm. I felt like it was a little unsafe but everything was responding. So my question is how long after your RARP did you wait. My Surgeon said about 6 weeks.

Congratulations! It is encouraging that you are getting there fast with one-sided nerve sparing (if I remember correctly). Did you already start penile rehab with Cialis and Viagra?
I'm starting Cialis soon. 🙂 and yes one sided nerve sparing.

That's terrific news for you! RARP 05/12/2025. I, too, had one complete side nerve sparing and the other side was partial. I'm hoping for the best in this department and have felt some slight encouragement toward that end. Nothing full blown, if you will. I immediately began on the Cialis rehab taking a 5mg dose daily. That may change down the line, time will tell there. Best of luck my friend!

1 ReactionI was also one side spared, the other mostly spared. I was erect enough for penetration within hours of surgery, which was awkward with a catheter in! The urologist was quite happy about that though - which seems odd but it is his job.
Don't push it. Wait the 6 weeks. It's torture, I know from personal experience, but wait. That act, in any of its forms, is not worth fresh surgery with a new catheter and potential incontinence as a result of just wanting to scratch an itch. My doctor said 4-6, at four I was asking "when is it OK", they said it was probably fine at four but I still waited six.
Use the generics, they are cheap: Sildenafil (Viagra) and Tadalafil (Cyalis)
