Changes in temper and more: What's you post-Orgovyx experience?
I wrapped up six months of ADT on Orgovyx about four weeks ago. I've noticed for the past couple of weeks that I've been a bit short-tempered and I've experienced a few episodes of "anxiety" - not typical for me. I'm wondering if it could have something to do with stopping the Orgovyx and my body perhaps starting to produce testosterone again.
No data on current T level (blood work coming next week). It was at 7 a few weeks after starting Orgovyx, and I assume it stayed there during my treatment. I still have no libido, but I did wake up with an erection yesterday for the first time in over six months, so maybe something's going on.
Has anyone else here experienced something similar after concluding ADT?

Not sure how you felt while on the ADT, I enjoyed it for 2 years. While getting used to it, (yeah, you can't really get used to it) I was a bit emotional, and yes, after a few months off of it I was a bit short tempered all of the sudden. I don't recall anxiety except having a little while trying to figure out why I was yelling after simply dropping something, LOL.
My guess is that your guess is correct, what you're likely experiencing is he return of your Testosterone. Hopefully it'll return quickly after only 6 mos of ADT.
After two years my T was down to 3, as you see below, it's on the upswing but still a little low, especially the free T which is where the fun stuff happens. It hasn't plateaued just yet so we'll see.

I'd kill for a little spontaneous "morning wood" Haha. Sounds to me like you're right on track!
Best of luck to you!
I absolutely did, Gary. As I have posted before, Orgovyx made me a sweeter, less anxious person. I could actually feel that during treatment; always wondered why I wasn’t feeling depressed like everyone else on ADT!
About a month after stopping I became more anxious, less tolerant and more judgmental. Screaming at the TV was back in my life, as well as cursing the headlines, the weather, the country, etc..
I could see in my wife’s face the horror of “Oh no….he’s back”
So I sat down with her and explained that the Orgovyx took away all my T, my aggression if you will. And the re emergence of it was affecting me. Others can disagree, but I know ME.
Hopefully it is one of those rubber band-like things that rebound in the other direction until the brain gets used to the new higher octane fuel. I’m having my first T test next week and will know the actual number.
In any event, just knowing this and openly talking with my wife about it has made me - and her - more aware of my emotional state. I now think before I yell and reconsider before bitching about whatever.
The other day, however, during Trump’s appearance on TV during the stock market meltdown, I completely lost it, cursed him, Congress, Musk, my broker, my cats…I was nuts!
My wife laughed and said, “Want to start that Orgovyx again?”
She might have something there…😳
@heavyphil , @web265 :
Thanks to both of you for sharing your experiences. Good to know that what I'm seeing in myself is something that others have run into, too at this stage in their treatment. So far, this hasn't really been "a problem" - just a little unsettling. Hopefully, things will settle down soon - but I know it will take a while for the Orgovyx to work its way out of my system, and for my testosterone to get back to wherever it's going to be longer-term.
I guess it's another trip though puberty! Fortunately, no acne this time (so far).
My experience stopping Orgovyx also involved getting snappy and impatient. I didn't get anxiety but, unfortunately, my insomnia didn't go away. I got very excited because my first post-Orgovyx testosterone reading was 360 and Mr. Happy was ready to go multiple times a week but my second reading was only in the 200s and I'm starting to feel not so great again so am going to see an endocrinologist and sexual health doctor to figure out what's going wrong.
How’s all that been working out, Scott? Any progress with any kind of treatment? You had mentioned estradiol patches but it was up in the air at the time.
Phil
So good to know! I am less than 3 months from finishing Orgovyx. Yes I have felt more mellow and calmer and less reactive. I actually prefer my Orgovyx personality though I hate the loss of sexual function, the hot flashes and the muscle and bone density loss. Maybe some brilliant pharma researchers can isolate the good from the bad and approve a new drug that will improve society 🙂
My appointments are next week so will know more then. Thanks for asking!
Just stopped Oorgovyx/zytiga 20 days ago and scaled down my prednisone to 0 after 24 months. How soon did anyone get a rise in testosterone? My hope for testosterone is to regain energy. Bilateral non nerve sparing surgery likely precludes other recovery.
