Post lumpectomy, mastectomy pain and zingers

Posted by healinhand @healinhand, Mar 25, 2023

I thought I would pass along some information that I tried on my wife with good results.
She`s had constant pain, and "electric shock zingers in the axilla and in the area of the breast that had the lump behind it, although there's no scar. 6 months post lumpectomy.
Her incision is around the areola.
I found this article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8651974/#!po=11.7188.
I tried the EMLA cream twice daily and she says she`s no longer feeling pain, or shocks. I did that everyday for a week, I`m now doing it every other day, with no pain.
As always, check with your provider, but it works for her.

Unfortunately, yes it is. Its a mixture of 2.5% Lidocaine, and 2.5 percent Prilocaine. It goes by EMLA cream.
