Possible cancer

Posted by nerf @nerf, 5 days ago

My husband started having abdominal pain after eating and feeling full. Had CT scan in June with no indication of anything going on. Small unremarkable lesion 1 cm. After doc thinking diverticulitis and 3 antibiotics another CT scan and MRI showing lesion on liver abutting pancreas head 4 cm. Stating "likely malignant". All tumor marker blood tests negative and blood work fine. Liver enzymes normal. Follow up will be PET scan and biopsy. What isvprobanility that this mass could be benign or is this likely pancreatic cancer. No jaundice just fatigue and stomach pain? Prostrate cancer treated in 2024 with radiation and androgen deprivation drugs but PSA 0 in June. Thank you.

I’m sorry for your stressful situation and I know what you’re going through, so many questions and answers take time to get. I believe that it’s still possible that the leision is benign because they usually do a PET scan to be sure. I had an MRI done a few years ago and they saw something on my pancreas and being a cancer patient they always assumed the worst but thank God I wasn’t. All the tests your husband had showed good results and that’s very encouraging, also abdominal pain can be so many different things and being tired is normal when you’re going through tests because it’s always stressful and definitely a way of life after being a cancer survivor.
