Positive Result for Blood Lead Level Test
Hello, I am not sure if this will work, but I'll give this a shot:
For the past week and a little bit I have had severe headaches, nausea, pain in my arms and legs. It literally feels like my nerves in my body are on fire, and that my arms, and legs are on fire constantly; brain scan have revealed nothing, and stool tests so far reveal no virus.
The only indicator of something possibly wrong is a lead blood test. I received results and they are 8.6 which is considered "elevated/high"( they have already ruled out paint and house conditions. )
The only possible other explanation for this result I can think of is that as of the past few months I have had shrapnel somewhere in my body.
I have raised this concern to my doctor, and he is (a bit, but not really) concerned about this. Obviously, I am concerned about this! (I am going to try to see a specialist this week for advice and possible surgery, but it's not a guarantee. )
Given my circumstances, I need advice or more expert advice on toxicology or bullets; First is a level of 8.6 something to be concerned about? Second, given that surgery might not be a guarantee, should I start chelation therapy?

I'm not sure what standard is being applied to the test you had, but a lead level below 10 in adults is considered normal, and it would be rare to see any symptoms with level below 20-40. And in general, other than the headache your symptoms don't necessarily align with lead poisoning?
When you refer to shrapnel, were you the victim of a gunshot? If so, perhaps you are experiencing a delayed stress reaction to it.
