Poor sleep on Eligard?
I've been on Eligard for 2 months resulting with poor sleep and frequent nighttime urination. I'll be meeting with a urologist, but has anyone else experienced this?

A search for “Eligard sleep problems” will confirm your problem is not unique. Also true with Lupron and Orgovyx. I have read it is more troublesome with Orgovyx but find it is similar to Lupron which I took for 6 years.
I don’t have to wake up more than once, most nights, to pee however. There are pills you can take to control this some. I do wake up a few times at night and wonder if I can go back to sleep. Usually can but I can’t really sleep more than 6 hours a night.
I was on Eligard/Lupron For one year and had significant sleep disturbances with poor sleep quality, and some frequent urination. I assume you had radiation therapy for your prostate cancer. I tried a number of sleep meds.(Not the so-called knockout medication‘s like Zolpidem or Valium like drugs) I found trazodone, an old antidepressant, which is often used currently in low-doses to be most effective. In low-doses it is used Routinely for sleep disturbances in many different conditions. I used the 25 mg dose And it was very effective.(as an antidepressant, it is used in doses between 150 and 300 mg a day) You may want to talk to your clinician about a trial of this drug. Side effects are minimal In this lower dose. The only thing I experienced was a dry mouth in the morning. With regard to frequent urination or a number of drugs to treat that and again, I would just talk to your clinician about adding something for that as well. Good luck with your journey.
I agree with Jheadding as I also had depression and sleep disorder on lupron for a year of such drug and months after. Trazodone and one Tylinol pm allowed me to sleep better and months after the lupron the sleep disorder and the depression ended. It seems to be a common side effect to necessary medication.
3+ Years on Eligard. Sleep patterns are horrible. 2 Solid hours (10-midnight) followed by 3 to 4 intermittent restful 30 minutes sleeps. I am however ecstatic about be alive and live my survivorship that way. All ideas and suggestions welcome.
This is my second time on Eligard. A year ago I was able to stop after three months when PSA went down to undetectable but recently the PSA went up. I am getting up at least four times every night to urinate. I also seem to be having pain in certain joints. I did not have these symptoms the first time.
