Anyone had a Peripheral Nerve Evaluation (PNE)?
Has anyone had the PNE procedure? After talking to my doctor my recent test has put a question in his mind whether I should do the sling or AUS for incontinence so he has suggested the PNE. I have stress incontinence but something in my last test showed the sling might actually cause retention. Thanks.

Have you had radiation treatment to the prostate or the prostate bed? That can cause hardening of their urethra and the sling doesn’t work well with that. The only solution is actually the AUS in that situation. If you have not had radiation and you don’t expect to have it then take a look at ProACT, Another device that works a little better than the AUS. Doesn’t require having to squeeze a bulb to pee.
PNE is a test to find out what can be a solution, Must’ve admit I’ve never heard of somebody having it.

1 ReactionI had surgery and it was removed. No one has ever mentioned the ProAct so I will ask about it. Thanks.
@archtxt4u, a peripheral nerve evaluation (PNE) offers a trial of sacral neuromodulation (SNM) for up to a week prior to any permanent implantation. Read more about SNM here:

Did you go ahead with the PNE?
I have the procedure on the 23rd. The urologist thought I was a candidate for the sling but after the last test he thinks the sling might cause retention due to test results.
