Please help, migratory joint pain and list of other symptoms
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me because I have not had much luck in seeing a provider as of yet. I am a 19 y/o F and three weeks ago I got an upper respiratory infection that caused facial paralysis and on one side and a bunch of sores in my mouth and led to me being diagnosed with Bells Palsy. I was treated with prednisone and valtrex but still suffered from debilitating migraines, nausea, and severe dizziness. I have a family history of autoimmune diseases. My mom has MS and her mom has RA. Now, for the past few days I have been suffering from severe migratory joint pain. It started in my ankle and it was swollen for a few and then I kept an ace bandage on 24/7 which helped, not too long after that it migrated to my hip which caused severe pain and caused me to limp. I have had severe neck pain on one side for several days now and so I’m wondering if this is a sign of something autoimmune going on and if so, what it could be. I appreciate any insight you have, thank you!

It would be good to have your doctor do labwork to check for autoimmune/inflammation markers, thyroid panel, hormone levels and neuropathy (glucose, vitamin deficiencies/toxicities). Depending on the results, you may benefit from seeing a neurologist, rheumatologist, and immunologist.
You likely had Zoster that caused the post viral symptoms.
Start with lab tests with your PCP before any further prednisone and schedule with a rheumatologist ASAP. Can your primary push to get you seen?’
I remember having Bells Palsy after having so many viruses hit me within 5 years. I had chicken pox, Epstein Barr (mono), Hashimoto's all within a short time period. From age 36 to 40. I feel like the viruses continue to flare and cause ongoing issues. Viruses all don't go away. They just go dormant. What is the answer? I wish someone would tell me also. I now have tendonitis throughout my whole body that flares on certain parts randomly. Agree autoimmune conditions lead to others because antibodies are attacking a particular area. Lab work plus doing Lyme Disease work up. Mine was borderline but they said it was normal. I have a lot of bloodwork that is borderline but normal. Check inflammation markers. CRP, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), Ferritin levels.
I think you should go to urgent care and get worked up/labs.
The expertise of a 1st rate Hematologist would be a good idea... as said professionals make their living reading and understanding blood chemistry, autoimmune conditions, and treating them.
Your roaming pain symptoms are indictive of inflammation!
And inflammation often attacks muscles, nerves, blood, and even organs, especially in autoimmune disorders.
(I have an autoimmune blood disorder and am hoping it stays within its current range)
Wishing you can quickly see a Hematologist and get relief...
