Pet scan results show a 3cm spiculated nodule right lower lobe

Got results of my pet/ct today not good news found a 3mm spiculated nodule lower left lobe and enlarged right infrahilar lymph nodes. Next step oncologist tomorrow. Scared to death!

Yes, been there with my husband. His first year’s NSCLC journey has been long and fraught with anxiety , but I have learned to “don’t worry in advance” (my father’s advice) bc it will be handled. Cancer is tricky, but there are so msny helpful treatments.

Hello @sharonna70, Nodules are certainly concerning, and it's good that you and your doctors are following up on what the scan showed. Our lungs (and lymph nodes) are sensitive and can react to all sorts of irritations. The spiculated nature of the nodule does raise concern, it doesn't mean that it's certainly cancer.
What prompted the CT/PET, were you noticing any symptoms? Were you working with a pulmonologist?
What did the oncologist recommend?
