Peripheral neuropathy in lower calves, not in feet or other places?
I have peripheral neuropathy in the outside of both calves and only at night, usually between 4-7am. No problems in feet or other places and no problems during the day. I think it comes from sleeping on my side but can't do otherwise. Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like restless leg syndrome. What symptoms do you get 4-7am and do they wake you up?
Hi @onefisher, You mentioned you only have the symptoms at night and they are on the outside of both calves. I have experienced similar symptoms in my arms but normally only on the side that I'm sleeping on. I think mine has to do with nerves in my arm/shoulder being compressed or pinched and the tingling and stinging wakes me up and I roll over to my other side. There are a lot of conditions that can cause leg pain and I think it would be a good idea to discuss your symptoms with your doctor. Mayo Clinic has a list of leg pain causes here that might be helpful - https://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/leg-pain/basics/causes/sym-20050784.
I had pain at the back of one of my legs that turned out to be a blood clot. Is the pain on the side or back of the calves?
Thanks for the reply. Pain is on the outside of my lower calves. Have checked it out with my doctor and a spine specialist but no one seems to have a clue as to what might be causing it. Am considering make by an appointment with Mayo’s
Hi Onefisher, Another discussion I thought you might find helpful is the Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) for treating compression and pain discussion - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/myofascial-release-therapy-mfr-for-treating-compression-and-pain/. MFR can help provide relief for a lot of different conditions and there is a lot of member experience on the therapy.
You say you can only sleep on your side. I was a side sleeper for most of my life. I forced myself to become a back sleeper. It took a while, but it is my mode of sleep now. I can also still sleep on my side if necessary.
