Penile Numbness after Prostate Cancer treatment: What can be done?

Posted by marshall2208 @marshall2208, Apr 1 11:21pm

I had prostate cancer. I went through 18 weeks of radiation. Afterward I was placed on orgovyx. I am still able to have an erection however I have lost feeling in my penile shaft. My current urologist just says it is because of the radiation, previous issues, the low testosterone from medicine and age. My question is there anything to bring the feeling back without increase the testosterone? Currently the cancer is in remission.

Is the loss of feeling all the time or only when you have an erection? What about urination?

There is normal feeling but during intercourse not enough to climax. Urination there is feeling as normal. Although I check with the orgovyx manufacter they claim they have not heard of that side effect although if you read it says it could be a problem. The frustration is my urologist just says it could be because of age, medicine(it causes low testosterone, and the prostate cancer but offer no solution. Second opinion Doctor wasn't helpful cause I did not say I would transfer to him and he did not understand "how I was interested in intercourse" Can't make this up.

I agree many drs make assumptions on people's sex lives based on age or body type which is very narrow minded.
