Anyone have moderate pericardial effusion with prostate ca treatments?
I am 65year old with PC metastatic to the bones and lymph nodes gleason:9. Diagnosed 0n 04/03/24 I am on docetaxel(chemo), Eligard injection and Nubeqa tablets. I have 2 more rounds of chemo. 2weeks ago I had a CT chest with contrast(I have been coughingsince the beginning of chemo) to figure out the lingering cough. The CT showed liquid around my heart(moderaate) and liquid(moderate) in my right lung. Has anybody got that side effect from chemo or therapies? Thank you.

I had 10 rounds of chemo, finished a year ago. I don't recall the coughing part although I may of had that. I didn't have any fluid buildup during the treatment. My other two meds are different from yours, I get Firmagon shot and take Presnidone. I do wish you the best on your journey. So many good people here to help. Best to all.
Thank you Steve.
@thierryb1959, I thought I'd check in to see how you're doing. What did they do to resolve the pericardial effusion? Were you able to continue chemo? How are you doing now?
Hi Colleen; besides my heart and my right lung, my legs became swollen with liquid. It is not a blood clot(legs) but probably side effect of one the multiple medications I am given. My oncologist put me on Lasix (furosemide) to eliminate the liquid. My legs are back to normal now. For my heart, I believe that there is an improvement; lately when I am active(mow the lawn) I don't run out of breath quickly like before taking Lasix. I will have an echocardiogram on 11/26 that will show the "real" situation with the the pericadial effusion.
Thank you for your care,
Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and modern medecine for the support, help and hope they provide to us, the not well.
