I will have a Robotic Prostatectomy on August 28.
Wondering how long it takes to get the pathology report after surgery?

I had my pathology results 2 weeks after surgery. Your experience may vary. I requested genomics studies and that took an additional 6/weeks.

Good luck on your journey. We’re here for you.

I had my NS RALP at Mayo Phoenix in late June 2024 and it took a week for the pathology report to show up on their portal. The surgical notes were there in a day or two.

I would think it depends on the facility. I'm with Kaiser and had the pathology back within 4 days

I had Robot Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy (RALP) 01/2022 by surgeon/oncologist/urologist from Karmanos Cancer Center (a COE) and part of Detroit Medical Center but in a Trinity Health OR near home (complicated but nice to be able to pick and choose in a large urban area).
I had initial results the afternoon after surgery (large gland, areas seen on MRI and PET Scan as expected) plus Extra-capsular extension. That was expected and now confirmed.
Karmanos doesn't have a portal but before I left the hospital 4-days later (long stay complicated by finding A-fib during OR prep) I had the full rundown from my doctor.
Yup! No 2 of us are the same.
Best of luck and care and strength on your own journey.

Mine was at Mayo Jacksonville and I believe it was one or two days after surgery. I stayed in Jacksonville for two days after surgery and Dr. called me before I left for home. I think it may have been on my patient portal one day after surgery.

I had my surgery at Mayo on June 24 of this year. My pathology report was available to me on the portal that same evening.
