PARKINSONS, NEUROPATHY AND TRIGMINAL NEUROLOGIA

Posted by annettebottoms @annettebottoms, Sep 9 8:45pm

I have been diagnosed with all 3 of these within the past couple of years. I'm taking Gabapentin for the Neuropathy with increasing doses, Crexent for the Parkinsons and Tegretol for the TN. Any ideas of how they all started, if they can be successfully treated to slow down their progression? Especially the Neuropathy-only have extreme pain or extreme numbness.

Thanks

Welcome @annettebottoms, It's a difficult question to answer and one that a lot of us with multiple conditions would like to know, how they started and how can they be treated to slow their progression. It's just my opinion but I think the best thing we can do to help ourselves is to learn as much as we can about each of the conditions and what treatments are available that provide some relief. The good news is that I think you already have already started on the learning more journey.

I was diagnosed with trigeminal nerve pain in 2018 and take carbamazepine, which was increased yesterday to 300mg daily. White Blood Count must now be monitored.

Diagnosed with Small Fiber Peripheral Neuropathy on 2022. Neurologist said nothing he could do as it was incurable. Found a chiropractor certified in Neuropathy who prescribed Rebuilder and Anodyne therapies and two supplements twice daily which keeps pain under control.

I am currently involved in something similar. Where do you go for those treatments?

Please check your Thyroid. THS and T4. I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy, but my THS was very high. When I got my THS in the 3 range my neuropathy went away. Doctors make mistakes.

Thank you for your response. I am having Thyroid issues. My doctor is working to regulate it. I will let him know what you said.

I see a Chiropractor certified in neuropathy. My daily Rebuilder, Anodyne, and supplement treatments are at home. I see Chiropractor weekly for manipulations, spinal decompression, vibration platform, and neck therapy (Denner Roll). Chiropractor ordered Rebuilder and Anodyne equipment and supplements for me.

I have been diagnosed with sjogrens, trigeminal nueralgia, nueropathy with severe numbness on my entire face, and recently with myositis. I did a year of rituximab infusions but didn’t help with nueropathy
Or numbness. Currently been taking ivig infusions for last 5 months. Improvement with myositis but not numbness or nueropathy which doctor was hopeful it would help with that.

I am so sorry. I don’t know how you manage it. Learning triggers for Trigeminal nerve pain helped. For example, avoid touching my nose, sleep with my face covered to avoid a draft on my face help me to avoid pain.
