Pain sitting after prostate surgery
Hi all,
Posting this because I only saw one other posting when searching this issue. Hoping it helps the next guy who is searching.
Had my prostate removed in October of 2024. I was in serious pain sitting and had to use a cushion to sit at work or at home. It was not constant pain, but it was uncomfortable commuting to work etc. Doc gave me the “that’s odd..” look when I reported it. Although the cancer escaped the prostrate and was in the seminal vesicals (sp?) it was not in my bones. Gleason 9, 56 years old.
Here is the good news- pain stopped in late April.
It took a while but pain went away. If you have similar symptoms and your doc says you are otherwise ok, just give it time.
Guessing nerves took a beating during surgery but that’s only a guess, and finally healed up.
Hope it helps and good luck to you.

This post is very helpful.
I have this pain now - had prostatectomy 3 weeks ago today. Also a Gleason 9 PT3b like you .
Glad to hear it’s helpful. Just finished 8 weeks of radiation and compared to the surgery it’s a breeze, in my case anyway. ADT for 2 years is plan now. Hope you are doing well. Hang in there and the catheter removal is not the nightmare I thought it would be, so if you are worried, don’t be. Stay strong brother.
