Anyone have experience with tendon release surgery after THR?
I have hip, thigh, and groin pain four years after my hip replacement. My doctor thinks I have tendinitis of the psoas. He is suggesting a tendon release procedure, likely done via arthroscopy. Has anyone had this procedure and if so, what Was the outcome?

@longhorn1 I had it a few years ago with my hip after a THR and 2 revisions. It was relieved with a combination of PT , regular stretching and cortisone injection. Have those already been tried?
Yes, I’ve had PT and Cortizone injections. Those have only provided minimal relief. As a 74 year-old man I’m trying to determine the value in having another surgery. My pain is not intense, but it is persistent and obviously I would love to reduce or eliminate it.
My husband had THA May 2023. My husband has groin, thigh, and hip pain as well. My husband had the iliposoas tendon release surgery Sept 2024, after several opinions. Surgery did not improve his pain levels, nor did 3 cortisone injections. We've seen countless doctors trying to find the cause of the pain and have had every MRI, 3 Phase bone scan, hip aspirations etc... to rule out infection and/or back issues. We found a doctor in Utah, who finally found the source of pain, his offset is too wide, causing tendons and muscle issues. The Utah doctors said we shouldn't have had the iliposoas tendon release. Have you had a second opinion?
