Ostomy: Adapting to life after colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy
It takes time to become comfortable with an ostomy — a surgically created opening in your abdomen that allows waste or urine to leave your body.
Many questions may run through your mind as you practice good ostomy care and live your life. It can help to talk to others who have been there. Perhaps you'd like to ask others questions like: What can I eat? What about leaks? Can I go back to work after colostomy? Can I ride a bike with an ileostomy? Will everyone figure out I've had urostomy surgery just by looking at me? What about intimacy?
Welcome ostomates. Let's talk frankly about living with an ostomy. Why not start by introducing yourself? What type of ostomy do you have? How's it going?

@piki thank you for the information. I will look into it as I have had a lot of skin issues from day one
It comes in several forms and is available from Amazon.
@mariar55 If you have Amazon in Canada its called Skin Tac and comes in liquid or wipes I prefer the liquid bottle that has an applicator On my Amazon site it is about 14.00 dollars It is actually cheaper than the company I get my ostomoy supplies from
@mariar55 You might consider joining the excellent Canadian Ostomy forum at https://www.facebook.com/groups/OstomyCanadaSociety
@mariar55 Yes I get it from my local small pharmacy but probably some of the Canadian suppliers would carry it. My Ostomy does and also Amazon.ca. photo from Google images.
What is skintac? I have had an Ostomy for almost 4 yrs and never heard that name. Can you please send a picture of it and if it can be purchased in Canada. I too find the tips from very useful. Thank you to everyone who shares tips .
