Osteoporosis and mental health
I found this article on the connection between osteoporosis and mental health very interesting. It goes into a lot of depth into the pluses and negatives of osteoporosis drugs as they connect to mental health, and how depression, anxiety and PTSD are connected to osteoporosis through hormones.
I was especially interested in the section under Teriparatide, which explained that Forteo and other PTH drugs, (which would include Tymlos), increase cortisol levels over time. Hence, medical practitioners should take this into consideration when treating patients with a history of chronic anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc.

Interesting article.
Thanks for the share there was a lot of information! I couldn’t understand it, but I did forward it to my endocrinologist.
@loriesco, I couldn't understand the part about the anabolic drugs. I had to put it into Chatgbt and ask the bot to put it into layman's terms, lol!
Sending it to your endocrinologist is a great idea!
its okay, a lot to learn. anabolic means that supplements you put in your mouth don't reach the intended target because the target is closed off by direct means. So grifty supplement people will sell you stuff which can't effect the thing it needs to go to!
Great read! The link between osteoporosis meds and mental health is often overlooked. The part about Teriparatide raising cortisol levels was eye-opening—especially for those with anxiety/depression/PTSD. Doctors should definitely consider this when prescribing. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent article! Thank you!
