Ossicular Reconstruction vs. Hearing Aid
My daughter (age 14) had her eardrum repaired but still has an issue with the mallus and stapes. We just had a doctor's appt assuming that he would schedule her for Osscular reconstruction surgery, but now wants her to wear a hearing aid. Obviously this is not her first choice, but being athletically active, he didn't think the surgery was a good idea. Has anyone out there had the surgery and was it successful? Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
