Optimal height for gerd bed wedge?

Posted by caregiver333 @caregiver333, Feb 2 2:53pm

Recommendation used to be 3 to 6 inches. My current 6 inch wedge does not seem to be high enough, thinking of going to 8 inches. Wedge is full length of bed, so akin to raising head of bed that number of inches (it slants down to 0 inches at foot). Interested in others' experiences, recommendations, etc.

@caregiver333 if you can find 8” high bed risers (available in all linen and bedding stores as well as Amazon) for the head of your bed, go for it. I finally got an adjustable bed so I can raise the head f my bed with my remote to any height I prefer.

Because your wedge is the full length of the bed, then at the diaphragm area it's not at 0, so the raise is less than 6 inches at the diaphragm.
Maybe consider a wedge that doesn't cover the full bed
