Odor with incontinence? Do others smell what I may not?

Posted by anosmic1 @anosmic1, Jan 20 1:03pm

I'm not 10 weeks after surgery and the only real issue I deal with regularly is incontinence. The exercises have not been much help so far. But my real question - as someone who lost his since of smell 32 years ago - is whether others can smell me. No one has said anything yet to suggest they can, including my wife, who surely would. Just another part of our new reality.

Understandable, but no. Unlikely to have any odour problems.
I'm 4 months in, hopeless with the exercises & still leaking 400-500ml per day.

I have all sorts of pads & have had no issues with odour at all. They're all very good.

Thanks - one less thing to think about.

My doctor said I would be more aware of it than anyone around me as I am probably paranoid about it but most people around me wouldn’t notice at all. I did start using a body wash with more scent to it for my own peace of mind however!

I never had any odor, nor did anyone around me say there was. Well, maybe the dogs. 🙂

LOL! Yep, strange dogs make a beeline to it!

Lacrosse official here. The season started 4 months after surgery, and I was wearing a light pad just in case. After a month of that thing rubbing, I quit wearing it. Asked a couple of older partners at the end of a couple of games if I was emitting any urine odder and both said no. We wear black shorts so I would be the only one that knew I was leaking and yes, I was self-conscious about it. Would say that is normal.
I suggest wearing sport type of underwear such as Under Armour 6" boxers as they do not retain moisture like cotton does. Many companies make them.
