No genetic info anyone else?

I got my diagnosis of grade 2 astrocytoma from pathology but when it was sent in for genetics, they were unable to get anything from the sample. It was a 2cm sample and done by the mayo in Rochester so it was trusted staff. Has anyone else had this issue? I’m worried about deciding on treatment since we don’t know anything about it.

Hello,
Yes, they may be trusted staff, but it is ok to get a 2nd and possibly a 3rd or 4th opinion.
Good luck and stay positive.

They were my 2nd opinion. I’m concerned that if the lab couldn’t run the dna if there’s anything else left of the specimen and the next lab will have the same problem

Can't help but most of the doctors and staff are pretty experienced
