newly diagnosed

I have recently been diagnosed with lower leg neuropathy. Could this cause my knee to have difficulty bending when walking?

Welcome @abrodsly, I have no medical experience or knowledge but I think there are many different variables and reasons besides neuropathy that can cause your knee to have difficulty bending when walking. I have degenerative arthritis and have had one knee replaced. I also have idiopathic small fiber neuropathy in both legs which never caused me trouble bending when walking but does cause some balance issues.

Do you have joint pain or stiffness in the knee?

Hello,
Sorry about your condition. And yes, there is a good chance the knees can get affected. I am having the same issue and my knees are displaying tightness, weakness, and some pain. I am seeing my neurologist virtually tomorrow along with other issues unfortunately.
I wish you the best and have a serene evening,

@abrodsly
How were you diagnosed? Did you have MRIs and EMGs/nerve conduction studies? Did you have a MRI and ultrasound of your knee? Have you seen a neurologist and orthopedic specialist? Are you getting physical therapy or other treatments?

I’ve had MRIs on my back and my knee. The knee has had cortisone and gel injections. I’ve had one nerve test, with a new one next month by the neurologist. I’ve been seeing orthopedics for over a year. I’m in pt now for my lower back. I’m hoping we might be able to get some answers

Hi John,
Thank you for your reply. This is definitely an insane condition to deal with. One has absolutely no idea which symptoms or where they may hit next. I believe I have arthritis in my knees and my neurologist told me today to make an appointment with my PCP to check into that which I did. I guess we shall keep guessing about and waiting for what may happen next.
Take care and have a serene evening.
