Neuropathy + Arthritis + Gout = pain in feet

Posted by cookierockwell @cookierockwell, Feb 13, 2023

I wasn't sure where to post this. Years ago, I was diagnosed with neuropathy, and have had pain in my feet, along with feeling like the soles of my feet are on fire, like they're cold when they're warm to the touch, and like they're dry when they're moist, and feeling like I'm wearing socks when I'm not.

After a few years, I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my feet and toes.

About 2 months ago, my PCP told me she thought I might also have gout in my feet. She put me on two different medications, and about 30% of the pain in my feet is gone.

So today she made it official -- I have neuropathy, arthritis, and gout in my feet. I'm posting this in hopes that it may help someone else with neuropathy and foot pain. Please ask your doctor to test the uric acid level in your blood, or even to just prescribe a trial of gout medication. Although it's not a cure, having a 30% reduction in pain helps a lot.

Best wishes,
Cookie

I also have arthritis and neuropathy--arthritis in knees, neck and developing spinal stenosis. Is this all part of autoimmune complex. Does anyone else have arthritis. I'm glad they treatment for your gout. Are you diabetic?
