Anyone tried Neurofeedback for bipolar disorder?
I have rapid cycling bipolar disorder and my current psychiatrist who’s also a Pharmacologist has been tinkering with my meds for over a year to find the exact cocktail that will manage my symptoms. To date there has only been a shred of improvement.
My therapist has suggested that I look into Neuro Feedback to work along side of my prescribed medication.
Has anyone else had any experience with Neuro Feedback good or bad?

I don't know about bipolar but have talked to a number of people with Epilepsy that Neurofeedback helped. Some gained total seizure control and others partial control. There were several it didn't help at all.
Good luck,
Jake
There’s a few things that I am looking at as options or alternatives. I run them by my wife first...she’s been a surgical nurse for 30yrs and if it passes her sniff test I will take it to my psychiatrist to see what he has to say about it.
I told my last psychiatrist that all I wanted was to feel normal again. He looked me in the eye and told me that it had been so long since I was normal that I would not recognize if I were to see it. Needless to say that wasn’t very encouraging!
Hi Gary, I add my welcome. I also added this discussion to the Mental Health group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/mental-health/ where members are talking about neurofeedback and you can also find discussions about bipolar disorder.
Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback. Fellow members @cindypekarek @anniegk @crissdawn @bethy1962 @margaret10 and @undiagnosed_pain may have some experiences to share.
What does your wife say about trying neurofeedback? Did the suggestion pass her "sniff test"?
Tried this method with sounds or music but sad to report no positive results for me. You might try and get better results.
