NET's and Dental Work
I have read *** that a carcinoid crisis could be triggered during a dental procedure using anesthetics. I have upcoming dental work required. (I am being treated with monthly octreotide injections.)
Information is needed -
Questions: Has anyone experienced this issue? What remedies were used? What cautions were used / are necessary? Etc. Etc.
*** Source: "Navigating The NET Patient Journey" (Healing NET Foundation) - this is an excellent resource for NET education
Many thanks.

@markmark007,
While you wait for another member to respond to your question, I did find some information on the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation website that discusses dental work for carcinoid patients. Perhaps you will find this helpful. Your will find several references to dental work on this page.

Will your dental work include anesthesia?
You need to stay away from
Epinephrine
However I had dental work done without it just takes a lot longer but my dentist did understand and was willing to work with my situation
I had no problem
You just need to let your dentist know do that he can have the right medication available for you because they don’t keep it on hand atleast my dentist didn’t
Best of luck
Thanks !!!
Many thanks for your response !
